CARNAHAN TURNS THE PAGE AND TAKES 2 STEPS FORWARD
“ We needed this, and again we get to go home
and test some more” said Jason as the Irving Oil Marketing /
Carnahan Motorsports team finished the best run of the year at the high
banked speeds of Riveside Speedway. Carnahan was noticed and reminded
of the hard work paying off as the practice board posted a 15th
quickest out of 28 cars in the last practice session only 1/10 of a
second off of veteran drivers such as Shawn Tucker and Lonnie
Sommerville. “ lap times that close to those guy’s gives us
a great boost for the fans, the team, our sponsors, and myself. I knew
we would start to catch on.” said Jason with a smile. The
practice session, qualifying and the race showed great forward
direction as Jason ran with the field maintaining the lead lap and
gaining positions, until the end where the respectable driver made room
for the leaders who were running for the win. “We could have
fought a little harder to maintain the lead lap but it may have been at
the cost of wrecking someone and the leaders, we need respect from the
experienced guys and when we want it back when it’s our night we
will have it back” said Jason. “We closed the rookie chase
gap tonight and still may have a shot at it. I cannot thank Irving oil
Marketing enough for staying buy our side, our program is only going to
improve from hear on in” said Jason with confidence. The team was
smiling as well as they know that as a team they are all getting to win
as the improvements show for the #55. Next up the largest and toughest
challenge for Jason and his crew as they begin preparation to qualify
to get into the Peterbilt 250 speed weekend in the Geary woods of
Fredericton NB. It will probably be the largest field of qualifying
cars to get into a race in Atlantic Canada. See you there….
