PROSTOCK TOUR OFFICIALS NOT HAPPY WITH SHOW... BUT THE 55 TEAM SAVES A 17TH  PLACE  FINISH
“Just a wreck fest” said Scott Alexander (the tour general manager) as he described the twin 100 lap Pro Stock feature at Raceway Park in PEI this past weekend. “To many undeserved cautions, and drivers need to be settled down” another official commented.
But the day brings not much better luck for the Carnahan Motorsports team. Avoiding several early cautions it appeared that his head was up and on the wheel. The next caution was not as forgiving to Jason as the #55 was stuck with no where to go as a 4 car pile up flashed in turn 1 ahead of him on lap 32. “ It was my fault, I seen the 92 and the 48 get crossed up in front of me, but did not react the way I should have. It happened fast and I thought the 3 tangled cars were dropping to the inside and I had a few behind me coming hard. I thought if I pushed the 92 from his left rear that I could get through without getting run over from behind. I aimed to touch the rear of his car to turn it, but it doesn’t when you catch the left door and put him up on our hood.” said Jason as the #55 Irving Oil crew was wrenching on the car to get it back out for more points laps. “ These guys are like myself and Irving, they never give up, and it is never over. They work hard to keep me competitive and it shows considering the efforts they show keeping us in the rookie chase. I just kick myself when I could have made a better move tonight. That will come with seat time.” stated Jason as he made his way to source parts for the crew to help them get him back in the show.
As the night went on it did not get much better for the rest of the cars racing either. More cautions caused a total of 7 cars of 27 finished on the lead lap and the Irving oil Marketing team scored a respectable 17th place survival finish when they returned to finish the race on lap 100. The team is still energetic and motivated to be able to compete with the largest late model Pro-stock touring division in North America.
The next event will be segment #2 of 3 Triple Crown Events at Scotia Speed world at the Atlantic Cat 250 in Halifax NS. I’m positive as usual the Irving Oil team will be back in gleaming shape for that event.
